Dalvay By-The-Sea is located approximately 25 minutes North East of Charlottetown inside Prince Edward Island National Park on Dalvay Beach.

Visitors will arrive generally by three methods: Air transport, (at Charlottetown Airport; car rental facilities/taxi services are available) or by driving from either the Confederation Bridge at Borden-Carleton or the Wood Island Ferry Terminal.

The Confederation Bridge is a 13 km bridge which links Prince Edward Island to mainland New Brunswick. This is a toll bridge, however visitors do not pay the toll to enter PEI from the New Brunswick side, the tollbooths are applicable only when you leave PEI via the bridge.  There is a large Visitor Information Centre on the PEI side of the bridge called Gateway Village, here you may also stop and receive further tourist information.                                Photo: airscapes

The Woods Island Ferry (Northumberland Ferries) operates May to mid-November. The ferry leaves from Pictou, Nova Scotia and lands at Wood Island, PEI (45 minutes southeast from Charlottetown). The crossing takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes each way. For current scheduled sailings call 1-800-565-0201. Note, the ferry does not accept reservations in advance. Ferry tolls are paid from the PEI crossing side only.

To find Dalvay from either the Wood Island Ferry or the Confederation Bridge, take the Trans- Canada Highway #1 towards Charlottetown. Then proceed to Trans-Canada Highway #2 EAST (toward Souris, PEI) for 10 kilometers (6 miles) and turn left on Highway #6 (at Bedford toward Grand Tracadie).
